D-Day

On 6th June 2024, it is 80 years since D-day. This is an event which was meant to take place on 5th June 1944 but due to bad weather it happened on 6th June 1944.We had an assembly so that we could learn more about D-day and what actually happened. We learnt that up to 7,000 ships and landing craft were involved, delivering a total of 156,000 men and 10,000 vehicles to the five beaches along the carefully selected stretch of the Normandy coast. On the 6th we designed bunting to commemorate all of the people who lost their lives and were part of the D-day landings. It was hung up around the outside of the school.
