Curriculum Overview

The intent for our curriculum is as follows:

  • To provide a stimulating, ambitious and engaging curriculum which develops academic, social and emotional growth
  • To provide a progressive curriculum which is exciting and challenging, where children experience the opportunity to learn in a wide range of contexts

We celebrate and welcome differences within our school and local community. Our curriculum develops skills, knowledge and understanding through individual subjects learning journeys which build on prior knowledge. We aim to provide exciting opportunities to engage learning and believe that all children should be actively involved and challenged within their learning.

We aim to provide a relevant, broad and balanced curriculum and we recognise that the children need to value themselves whilst developing aspirations for their future and for their community. We are passionate that all children realise that it is a wonderful world out there and when they leave us, they are ready for their next stage of education. To be successful at this, curriculum, teaching and assessment need to be inextricably linked. When all three are aligned and of the highest quality, they should facilitate effective learning for all our children, irrespective of their starting points.

Remote Learning

Following the government guidelines, which come into place on Thursday 22nd October 2020, the Department for Education expects schools to be able to immediately offer children access to remote education. To align with this, we use Seesaw, a platform where teachers can set assignments to be completed at home.

If you have any issues, please inform your child’s class teacher. Thank you for your cooperation.
