The Boy at the Back of the Class

March 11^th 2024, we read the first chapter of the boy in the back of the class, where a new boy joins the class. He sits in the empty chair at the back of the class where Dena used to sit before she left. It is all about a boy called Ahmet who is a refugee from Syria and everyone thinks he is weird because he doesn’t speak. But he’s not really, he is just shy and can’t speak English. We are aiming to write a character description of Ahmet and include things about his personality, appearance and what he likes. We have been reading a lot of the book so that we understand everything about him. Everyone’s descriptions are amazing and we really enjoyed writing them.
